Banana Foster Brazil Nut Shake
A super tasty and impressive caramel flavored banana milkshake with bits of chocolate chips floating throughout. Make sure to scrape the sides of the glass as you drink for even more chocolate! Be sure to use a good caramel extract as poor quality ones can lend a harsh taste to the drink. Otherwise, just use vanilla extract, or more vanilla bean. Serves 2.
Ingredients:
- 3 frozen bananas, small
- 1 T agave nectar + 3/4 t caramel extract
- 1/4 t cinnamon
- 2 c. Mighty Brazil nut milk*
- 1/4 cup melted coconut oil
- 1/4 cup cacao powder
- 1 T agave nectar
Directions:
- Mix the coconut oil, cacao powder and agave nectar, and use the resulting chocolate sauce to decorate the glasses. If the glasses have been placed in the freezer for a few minutes beforehand, the chocolate will harden on contact. Reserve 2 T of the chocolate sauce.
- Blend all the remaining ingredients until smooth, and pour into the decorated glasses. Add the rest of the chocolate on top of the shake, a few drops at a time. They will harden in the shake.
* Mighty Brazil nut milk: 2/3 cups Brazil nuts, 2 cups water, 2 T agave nectar, 1 piece off of a vanilla bean, blend and strain through a nut milk bag.
